So Many Movies, So Little Time...

Posted by Andrea Lake on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, In : Regular
Hi folks!

There seems to be an influx of supernatural cinema screenings on at the moment.  You have to wonder why they're not waiting until October, to take advantage of Halloween treats and the spooky season, but their loss is definitely our gain!

A friend of mine has already been to see many of the films currently on offer, a couple of them twice! So let's start with her favourite, Warm Bodies (2013).  This is your basic paranormal romance, sexing up zombies and giving them a similar status t...

Fearsome Fairy Tales

Posted by Andrea Lake on Sunday, January 13, 2013, In : Regular
Okay, so this week I've been looking at Fairy Stories in class and once again, I was the first to admit what I pushover I have always been for fairy tales.  When I was a child I absorbed them all, like a sponge soaking up water.

I don't know what it was about them that fired my imagination.  Hansel and Gretel terrified me - the thought of a parent deliberately leaving two children alone in the woods was more than I could imagine as a child, especially as I was much-loved by my parents.  Little...

Game of Thrones - Spoilers!!!

Posted by Andrea Lake on Monday, June 4, 2012, In : Zombie
This season has "throne" a lot at us.  Rob Stark pronounced King of the North, Joffrey pronounced a little bastard by pretty much all who know him.

Sansa Stark must have been filled with relief when Joffrey decided to wed another, but her first real discovery is that she is now alone in Kings Landing with no real friends, and no protection!  Sansa was offered an opportunity to escape Kings Landing by Sandor Clegane and I would like to think his offer was made in good faith.  He has come to the...

Yay! Sky's Been Fixed

Posted by Andrea Lake on Sunday, April 29, 2012, In : Regular
Well, it has been an incredible couple of weeks here at La Maison Supernatural Supermarket.  I've been quite lost without Sky, but as an apology we've been given the added incentive of six months' worth of movies.  I quite like the sound of that but with life so hectic I haven't had a minute to really enjoy much.

The only film I've managed to watch so far is Resident Evil: Afterlife which was pretty amazing!  Of course, being a fan of the games and genre is par for the course and the graphics ...
