I've been a bit lost since my Sky box broke two weeks ago, still, Sky have been very kind and they're rushing out a new card for us by Special Delivery, so fingers never been crossed, I'll be watching Grimm very, very soon.

To fill in the gap left behind by my beloved television shows (currently Alcatraz and Grimm, with Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle) I've turned to Sky via the xbox.  Who is the genius behind this particular app?  Why didn't they do it sooner?  Anyway, I digress.  One of the programs I found is Game of Thrones.  A friend told me about this particular tv show a couple of months ago, but I haven't exactly had a great deal of time, so never got around to it.

What can I say?  Game of Thrones has a pre-Medieval tone, with lots of action.  I described it as Lord of the Rings crossed with True Blood and my fella actually agreed with me.  If you think of the fighting and politics from Lord of the Rings and imagine that with the grittiness and sex from True Blood, and you have the gist of the program.  With horrible beasts with pale blue eyes killing people indiscriminately; then those people rising from the grave to kill again, Series One opens on a rather bleak wintry scene.  The story is most engaging, with various mysteries and intrigues which keep you on the edge of your seat.

My advice, even through Series Two, keep your eyes on Bran Stark as I feel sure that he will have a greater part to play than thus far.  I must admit, I love the Queen's brother, Tyrion Lannister; he seems most adept at playing with politics - and anything or anyone else who comes along too!
